Hands On Performing Arts
The Hands on Performing Arts programme is offered to Junior School Students in Years 3 & 4, giving an opportunity to meet the sylabus guidelines with regard to composition and performance in a hands-on approach to music.
Classes are run in composite groups for Years 3 & 4. Classes offered in Years 3 & 4 are; Choir, Clarinet, Dance, Drama, Drums, Flute, Guitar, Keyboard, Saxophone, Stomp Percussion, Trumpet/Trombone, Violin, and an Ensemble Group for our more established young musicians.
HOPA classes are held during Period 5, on Tuesday afternoons after lunch.
All instrumental students are required to have their own instrument for practice at home and to bring to HOPA every Tuesday, with the exception of the Keyboard and Drums students, who do not bring their instruments to school, but must have them for practice at home. Guitar students must use and acoustic guitar for HOPA classes.
There are performance opportunities in Term 2 and Term 3, with our final HOPA Concert held at the end of Term 4.
All enquires regarding HOPA can be forwarded to Mrs Kerry Maude by email HOPA@pacifichills.net or alternative contact by phone on 9651 2733.
